Monster High Characters

Monster High is a line of fashion dolls produced by American Garret Sander and franchise by Mattel.  These fashion dolls have varied characters which were inspired from different horror and monster movie characters, which set them apart from other lines of fashion dolls. This line of dolls is given life by portraying Monster High as the school where these freakishly hip teens study.

These monster high characters are portrayed as being direct descendants or relative to renowned monster personalities such as the Mummy, Dracula, and Phantom of the Opera, Frankenstein’s monster, the werewolf, Medusa and the like.

Monster high characters are top billed by seven main hip supernatural personalities, six of which are females. Each of the main characters displays varying attributes and wardrobes. They manifests the different traits of the particular monsters they are allied to such as wolf ears, fangs, bandages, stitches and a lot more.

Leading the pack of these monster high characters is the daughter of Frankenstein’s Monster and his bride, Frankie Stein. At 15 years old, she is very affable and sporty. Quite new to Monster High, she is quiet awkward since her body parts tends to fly off on their own. With black and white hair which goes down her waist, she sports blue on right eye and green on the other. You can often see her wearing blue-plaid prints and other schoolgirl fashion. Her pet Watzit bear a resemblance to a tamed dog but which is actually made up of different animals.

Then there’s Lagoona Blue who is the offspring of Gill man, the sea monster and a nymph. She actually came from under the ocean with her pet piranha, Neptuna. She carries it around in her fish bowl purse. An animal lover, Lagoona is athletic yet sloppy. She is in fact a superb surfer who can surf just using her platform sandals. She is also a very good swimmer and is the captain of Monster High’s swimming team. She is 15 years old and sports blond hair with streaks of blue caused by the school’s chlorinated pool. She likes to spend her time in the water since her skin has the tendency to dry out when she’s out of the water. A casual dresser most of the time, she also dresses up for special occasions. She’s dating Gil who is a member of the freshwater swim team.

The smartest ghoul at Monster High, who can only communicate with zombie-like groans, is the daughter of a zombie couple. Ghoulia is already 16 years old but is quite timid, studious and considerate. She owns a baby owl which she names Sir Hoots A Lot. Although very shy, she has learned to socially mingle with others at the prodding of her best friend Cleo de Nile. Ghoulia’s love interest is a fellow zombie who is a member of the school’s chess team.

Oozing with confidence, Clawdeen Wolf is also very sociable, gregarious and trendy. The daughter of the Wolf Man, she is 15 years old who keeps a purple cat, Crescent, for a pet. She has many other siblings but picks particularly on Howleen, her sister with whom she often argue with regarding domestic matters. Clawdeen is covered in furs and sports piercings in both her pointy ears. Considered to be the most fashionable in the group, she loves to wear leopard prints and open-toed pumps. She often shaves her legs because she sprouts hairs abnormally. She loves to play soccer and track and field but daydreams of owning her own fashion brand someday. She has a brother named Clawd who used to date Cleo but is now dating Draculaura.

The vegan daughter of Count Dracula, Draculaura is about 1,600 years old and owns a pet bat which she fondly calls Count Fabulous. She loves to take walks under the sun and sports a fang and pink skin. Draculaura is very easygoing, sweet-natured and is the writer in the whole bunch. She especially loves to write about her ghoul-friends. She loves black and pink soo much that she even sports the colors in her hair. Unlike Count Dracula, she does not drink blood nor eat meat. She also can’t turn herself into a bat and even faints at the mention of blood. She is currently a member of the Fearleading Squad and is dating Clawd, Clawdeen’s older brother.

The Mummy’s daughter, Cleo de Nile is the captain of the Fearleading Squad. The most famous ghoul in Monster High, she owns a poisonous pet snake named Hissette. Cleo is quite arrogant although she’s a very good friend to the nerdy Ghoulia Yelps. She is the girlfriend of Deuce Gordon.

The only male in the main characters of Monster High, Deuce Gordon is the offspring of Medusa. He sports several strands of snakes in his head and loves to skateboard as well as casketball. He inherited his mother’s power of being able to transform people into stones temporarily with his stare thus he wears sunglasses to restrain that stony-stare. He has a two-tailed rat for a pet, which he names Perseus. He is 16 years old and is dating Cleo de Nile.

There are many other characters in Monster High but they mostly play minor roles thus are relegated to another article solely written for them.
